Jennifer Natalya Pritzker, born James Nicholas Pritzker in 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, is a billionaire investor and philanthropist, and a member of the Pritzker family.
Pritzker enlisted in the U.S. Army on February 8, 1974. She graduated with a BA in History in May 1979 from Loyola University of Chicago. While serving in the army Pritzker received several honors, medals and badges, including Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal .
Jennifer is the founder or chairman of several businesses, including a successful private equity fund. She also holds numerous real estates and properties in Chicago.
By creating several foundations and NGOs, Pritzker has been devoted to civic applications of inherited and accrued wealth, including through significant donations. In August 2013, Pritzker released a statement to individuals associated with two business and philanthropic organizations that subsequently received wide media coverage, indicating the change from “J.N.” to “Jennifer Natalya” as reflecting her being a transgender woman.
In 2016 she is ranked 374 in Forbes Magazine 400 Billionaires’ list of US and ranked 1067 in the world. She is the only transgender member of this list.
Jennifer lives in Chicago and has a daughter and two sons from her previous marriages.
